We ENJOYED our fabulous 14-day trip and returned Aug..28. We had only 12 on our tour and found out that one of the couples also booked through you - Chuck Wood & Jane Wood who are actually our good friends. It was a fun group and we all really bonded together.

As you may have heard, there was a big problem with our group reservation for the cruise. The day we arrived, the boat was fully booked and there weren't any cabins for us. We got off the ship and stayed the night in Wuhan, while our guide Jim Lee worked all night and into the early morning to find out what went wrong. Apparently, the booking in New York was incorrectly made/confirmed for the following day. With one day lost, the only solution was to get off the boat one day early in Wanxian to make an unscheduled, 10-hour wild bus-ride to the ChongQing airport. Of course, there was some grumbling from a few of the couples. But as it turned out, it was amazing journey through real China. We saw rice paddies, farmers, tiny villages, water buffalo, and daily life along a road that went up mountains and through valleys. We even had one of the best meals of the trip at a restaurant that the bus driver spotted. It was a bumpy, lurching ride as the bus rushed to get to ChongQing. But even the grumblers said it was one of the scenic highlights of the tour.

Please commend Jin Lee, our amazing tour guide. He worked tirelessly on our behalf and prevented our trip from being a disaster. He was perceptive and unusually resourceful, and kept us laughing with his excellent sense of humor. We were impressed that when traffic was stopped
for miles on a narrow, two-lane road at the start of our unscheduled bus ride, Brad decided to walk ahead every half mile, open up a space in the line of cars/buses/trucks, then call the driver on the cell phone and tell him to pass the cars until the bus reached him. When our luggage didn't arrive in our hotel rooms in a timely manner, Brad once delivered it himself. Over and over, Brad extended himself on our behalf.

Our group of six still marvels over how much we got for the price of the tour! And we're recommending a tour to China to all our friends. Thank you again for your help and advice. None of us will ever forget this trip.
