For those who are mainly interested in exploring Tibet, especially the Mt. Everest Base Camp, you can take this 12 day tours. |
Itinerary:
Day01: Beijing - Chengdu by air.
Your own transfer to Beijing airport for flight CA4108 taking off at 14:00 pm and arriving in Chengdu at 16:25 pm. Upon arrival in Chengdu, transfer to Chengdu Gingko Hostel.
Accommodation: Chengdu Gingko Hostel.
Meals to be included: none
Day02: Chengdu to Lhasa by air
Morning transfer to Chengdu airport for flight CA4401 taking off at 07:30 am and arriving in Lhasa at 09:30 am. Upon arrival in Lhasa, transfer to hotel.
Afternoon short walk to Barkor square in central Lhasa. Rest of the day free for rest and acclimatization.

Day03:Lhasa
Lhasa Sightseeing Tours
Full day sightseeing tours of Lhasa including the great Potala Palace the residence of the Dalai Lamas of Tibet; the Jokhang Temple, the holiest shrine in Tibet; and the bustling Barkhor Tibetan Bazaar.
Accommodation: Lhasa 2-star Hotel
Meals to be included: breakfast (lunch & dinner will be on your own)
Day04: Lhasa
Full day sightseeing tours of Lhasa including Norbulinka, the Summer Palace; Drepung & Sera, two of the biggest Buddhist monasteries of Tibet. TibetanHospital.
Accommodation: Lhasa 2-star Hotel
Meals to be included: breakfast (lunch & dinner will be on your own)
Day05: Lhasa - Gyantse (3650m / 259 Kms).
Drive to Gyantse passing besides the beautiful Yamdrok Tsho (TurquoiseLake), crossing the Kamba La pass (4794m) and Karo La pass (5010m).
Accommodation: Gyantse 2-star Hotel
Meals to be included: breakfast (lunch & dinner will be on your own)
Day06: Gyantse - Shigatse (3900 / 90 Kms).
AM: Visit The Khumbhum Stupa & Phalkor Monastery at Gyantse. Embark on a 3-hour drive to Shigatse through Tibetan farmlands and settlements. .
PM: Sight seeing Tour of The Tashilunpo Monastery and the free Tibetan market.
Accommodation: Shigatse 2-star Hotel
Meals to be included: breakfast (lunch & dinner will be on your own)
Day07:Shigatse - Xegar (3900m / 244 Kms).
Drive for approx. 6hours over to Xegar.
Accommodation: Xegar 2-star hotel.
Meals to be included: breakfast (lunch & dinner will be on your own)
Day08:Xegar - Rongphu Monastery (4920m.) - 60 Kms.
Drive over rocky terrain on 4-WDLand cruiser to the village of Dza Rongphu. Accommodation: Rongphu Monsatery Lodge.
Meals to be included: Breakfast(lunch & dinner will be on your own)
Day09:Everest Base CampExcursion (5090m.) - Xegar
A 2 hr. trek from The Rongbuk Monastery will lead you to the base of the highest peak on earth - The North Face Of Mount Everest (8848m.) Or Mount Quomolangma in Tibetan. Explore the Base Camp and The Rongphu glacier. Retreat to lodge. Later in the afternoon, return to Xegar (approx 96 Kms / 3hrs).
Accommodation: Xegar 2-star hotel.
Meals to be included: breakfast (lunch & dinner will be on your own)
Day10: Xegar - Lhasa
Transfer back to Lhasa.
Accommodation: Lhasa 2-star Hotel
Meals to be included: breakfast (lunch & dinner will be on your own)
Day11:Lhasa – Namtso - Lhasa
Transfer to NamtsoLake and then back to Lhasa.
Accommodation: Lhasa 2-star Hotel
Meals to be included: breakfast (lunch & dinner will be on your own)
Day12: Lhasa – Chengdu – Beijing by air
Morning transfer to Lhasa airport for flight CA4402 taking off at 10:30 am and arrival in Chengdu at 12:30 pm. Connnecting flight CA4109 taking off at 15:00 and arriving in Beijing at 17:15.
