Trip Overview:

Trekking in Tibet is full of fun and adventures. Trekking site of Tibet provides a suitable place for your never forgetting trekking expedition in Himalayas range.
Tibet is probably the only destination among the Himalayas that's not as known for its adventure circuits as the rest are. But do not underestimate this destinations as just another trans-Himalayan area of the Himalayas. There's much more to Tibet than Buddhism, monasteries and cold desert-like weather.

Itinerary:

Day01: Arrival in Chengdu.
Upon arrival in Chengdu, transfer to the hotel.
Hotel Accommodation: Chengdu Civil Aviation Hotel(3-star)
Meals to be included: none

Day02: Chengdu – Lhasa by air
Early morning transfer to Chengdu airport for flight CA4401 taking off at 07:30 am and arriving in Lhasa at 09:30 am. Upon arrival in Lhasa, transfer to Lhasa Xiangbala Hotel(driving time is about 1.30 – 2 hours).

Rest of the day is at your leisure. I suggest you to relax in the hotel for the afternoon, due to the high altitude.

Day03: Lhasa
Depart for tour of the PotalaPalace—listed as a world heritage site and definitely a sight of behold, PotalaPalace was founded in 1645 during the reign of the Great 5th Dalai Lama by 1648. The WhitePalace was completed, 12 years after Dalai Lama’s death. To avoid possible problems, the head monks related to the masses that the 5th Dalai Lama was in deep meditation until after the RedPalace was completed. And Jokhang Monastery- the “center catholic”, Barkor Street- the bustling Lhasa market. The market place filled with Tibetan in their traditional costume and the local handicraft will be a pleasure tour for you to explore.

Day04: Lhasa
Morning tour to the Norbulinka, the summer palace of the Dalai Lama and a tour of the Sera Monastery. The Sera monastery, home to 400 monks, fels more intimate than the Potala, and you are invited to see the day-to-day living and working spaces. In a kitchen blackened by dung fire, large pots and copper ladles hang on the wall; a monk offers visitors cups of yak butter tea, a staple of the Tibetan diet.
Next visit to TibetanHospital and Local Tibetan Family.

Day05: Lhasa – Gandan by jeep.
An hour's drive out of Lhasa will take you to Gandan Monastery (3,800 m/12,467 ft), which was founded in 1409 by Je Tsongkapa, the founder of the Gelupka (Yellow Hat) sect. We'll visit the monastery, then you should get ready for the trekking including renting 2-3 yaks, hiring 1-2 porters, buying food, mineral water, trying to set tent, sleeping bags etc.

Day06: Trekking
Today's trekking is about 6 hours. We will set up camp at Drogpa, near the Shuga La pass. Today's trekking distance is about 17 km.

Day07: Trekking: Drogpa to Chitu La
We will Trek for 5 hours until we arrive at Chitu La pass (4,940 m/16,207 ft), which is located in a vast, flat plain where we will camp for the night. The trekking distance is about 12 km.
Accommodation: Tent(sleeping bags)
Meal to be included: breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day08: Hiking: Chitu La to NyangoVillage via Yemalung
Today's trek will take 5 hours. Our first stop, Yemalung, is a major pilgrimage site for the followers of the Pa sect. This is the very site where Guru Rimpoche, the founder of the sect, hid important religious texts known as the Terma texts in the 13th century. The meditation cave of Vairocana, Rimpoche's disciple, is located in the slopes above.
The trekking distance today is about 13 km.

Day09: Trekking and by jeep.
NyangoVillage to Samye Monastery via Wango and Dragmar :
The trek to Samye Monastery, our final destination, will take a total of 3 hours. Walking through a forest and a small village, the trail becomes increasingly barren as we approach the monastery.
After we visit the monastery, we drive you to Tsedang.

Day10: Tsedang to Gyantse by jeep
Morning visit to Changzhu Monastery and Yumbulagang Monastery. Afternoon drive to Gyantse.

Day11: Gyantse to Shigatse by jeep
Morning visit to Pelkor Monastery. Drive to Shigatse and visit Tashilunpo Monastery and local bazaar.

Meals to be included: breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day12: Shigatse – Lhasa by jeep
Transfer to Lhasa.
Hotel Accommodation: Lhasa Xiangbala Hotel(3-star).
Meals to be included: breakfast, lunch.

Day13: Lhasa – Yangbajin – Lhasa
Sightseeing: Yangbajin Hotspring
Drive out of Lhasa to Yangbajin, a small basin 90 kilometers from Lhasa, was the earliest heat base to be developed. In 1975, scientists and engineers arrived to test its potential power. And then many workers arrived and built China’s first geothermal power station. It has many hot springs and mysterious hot water lake with a heat explosion unseen elsewhere. You would take a bath in the hot spring. In the afternoon return to Lhasa.

Day14: Lhasa – Chengdu
Transfer to LhasaAirport for the flight CA4402(10:30-12:30) to Chengdu. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel. Afternoon sightseeing includes Giant Panda Breeding Center (Chengdu is the home down of the giant panda). Tonight’s dinner will be especially arranged for Sichuan styled dinner.

Day15: Chengdu
Morning transfer to the 2200 year-old Irrigation System – Dujiangyan.

Afternoon visit to the famous TaoistMountain – QingchengMountain.

Meals to be included: breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day16: Chengdu – Home
Transfer to ChengduAirport for flight home.
