Jiayuguan
Jiayuguan, a recently developing industrial city of iron-steel production, is located in the middle of Hexi Corridor, Gansu. It is rich in tourist resources and there are many renowned places of historic interest and scenic beauty, namely, the Jiayuguan Pass the other attractions include. First Peacon Tower, Overhanging Great Wall, Heishan rock carvings, brick-painted graves of Wei and Jin periods as well as Qiyi Glacier and other natural scenes.

Heishan Rock Carvings
On the rocky cliffs of Heishan Mountain, northwest of Jiayuguan, where more than 100 carved pictographs can be found along the ravine. These carvings date to the Warring States Period(476-221 BC). They depict people hunting, horseriding and dancing as well as some animals; the carvings are a lively record of ethnic life in ancient China.
Underground Gallery
In recent years, more than 10 graves dating to Wei and Jin Periods (220-420 AD) have been excavated in the Gobi, some 20 km. east of Jiayuguan. These graves are brick-laid and more than 700 bricks are vividly painted in gay colors.
First Beacon Tower
The First Beacon Tower, started in 1539 AD, stands westmost along the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty, hence its name. It is built atop a cliff on the northern bank of the Taolai River.
