Dear Helen,

Thank you very much for your email and the fact that you thought of my wife's birthday. And we also would like to thank you again for your nice gifts which you gave us when we met in Chengdu.

We had a very nice and very interesting trip. Basically everything was very well organized and most things went very well. We think that you are part of a very well organized company with professional and friendly employees. But
when we met in Chengdu you asked me to also mentioned points which were not good. There were two such points:
1. As you might remember, we had a bit of a problem with the hotel in Jiuzhaigou. The only problem we had was the fact that it was not heated and we arrived at 12.00 at night as there was a terrible traffic jam on the way.

They only switched on a small heater in the room at the time we arrived and we were very cold as we had been in the traffic jam for 4 hours and had been traveling for 16 hours. Moreover, the hot water system was already switched off so we could now take a shower. Probably our disappointment was greater as we had not anticipated this. I might be good to inform people beforehand
of the situation in the off season.

2. Knowing a bit of prices and qualities of meals while I was working in Chengdu, we were a little disappointed about some of the meals, certainly compared to the price we paid for the meals. During this trip we sometimes got the impression that meals are a way for the guides to make some extra money. I rather pay a bit more and have better quality meals or do not pay
for the meals and organize them myself. You have to understand that this was not the situation for all meals. We had some very good meals as well.

I also believe that it would be good to inform people like us about the tipping system in China. I did not know about it and I was sometimes not sure whether a tip was expected by the guides and chauffeurs or whether it would be offending to give a tip. Some advice might be included in the itinerary which is often common practice.

Helen, I would like to emphasize that we had a wonderful trip and we have been very happy with your help and ecommendations. If we come back to China, we will certainly contact you again.
