• Explore the cultural highlights of the historic capital cities of Lhasa, Gyantse and Shigatse;
• Visit the fabled Rongbuk Glacier and North Mt. Everest Base Camp;
• Drive overland across the Himalayas from Tibet to Katmandu, Nepal.

Definitely, one of the best & the most popular of our Tibet tours, the trip includes visits to all the important places of interest in central & south Tibet. And the highlight of the trip is a visit to Rongbuk Monastery & the Everest Base Camp from where the view of Everest is the most spectacular of all.

Tour Cost:

• Minimum 2 passengers required for tours to go.
• Tours start from Katmandu, Nepal with a flight to Lhasa.
• Participants should arrive Katmandu at least 2 days in advance.
• Flights to Lhasa are also available from Chengdu and Beijing in China.
• Private tours are available on request.

Itinerary:

Day 01:
Fly from Chengdu to Lhasa (3650m).
On arrival transfer to hotel in Lhasa. Afternoon short walk to Barkor square in central Lhasa. Rest of the day free for rest and acclimatization.
Overnight hotel in Lhasa.

Days 02 & 03:
Lhasa Sightseeing Tours
Two full days of sightseeing tours of Lhasa. Visit the great Potala Palace the residence of the Dalai Lamas of Tibet; Norbulinka, the Summer Palace; Drepung & Sera, two of the biggest Buddhist monasteries of Tibet; the Jokhang Temple, the holiest shrine in Tibet; and the bustling Barkhor Tibetan Bazaar.
Overnight hotel in Lhasa.

Day 04:
Lhasa - Gyantse (3650m / 259 Kms).
Drive to Gyantse passing besides the beautiful Yamdrok Tsho (Turquoise Lake), crossing the Kamba La pass (4794m) and Karo La pass (5010m).
Overnight hotel in Gyantse.

Day 05:
Gyantse - Shigatse (3900 / 90 Kms).
AM: Visit The Khumbhum Stupa & Phalkor Monastery at Gyantse. Embark on a 3-hour drive to Shigatse through Tibetan farmlands and settlements. .
PM: Sight seeing Tour of The Tashilunpo Monastery and the free Tibetan market. Overnight hotel in Shigatse.

Day 06:
Shigatse - Xegar (3900m / 244 Kms).
Drive for approx 8hours over to Xegar. Overnight hotel in Xegar.

Day 07:
Xegar - Rongphu Monastery (4920m.) - 60 Kms.
Drive over rocky terrain on 4-WD Landcruiser/s to the village of Dza Rongphu. Overnight Rongphu Monsatery Lodge.

Day 08:
Everest Base Camp Excursion (5090m.)
A 2 hr. trek from The Rongbuk Monastery will lead you to the base of the highest peak on earth - The North Face Of Mount Everest (8848m.) Or Mount Quomolangma in Tibetan. Explore the Base Camp and The Rongphu glacier. Retreat to lodge. Later in the afternoon, return to Tingri (approx 96 Kms / 3hrs). Overnight Snow Leopard.

Day 09:
Drive Tingri to Nyalamu (3750m.) - 214 Kms.
Drive downhill to Nyalam crossing two spectacular passes - The Lalung La (5082m.) & Nyalamu (3800m.) PASS. Overnight Snow lion Guest House.

Day 10:
Nyalamu - Katmandu (1200m.) - 150 Kms.
Drive downhill to Zhangmu and to The Friendship Bridge where transportation awaits for the Groups final journey to Katmandu. End of tour.

TOUR COST INCLUDES

• Tibet Travel Permit, entrance fees;
• twin share accommodation in respective hotels;
• tours and transfers with English speaking guide;
• all land transport;
• breakfast everyday.

EXTRAS - as applicable:

• China Group Visa fees;
• Departure Tax at Katmandu airport (Rs. 1100);
• lunches & dinners; refreshments, bottled/alcoholic drinks;
• any tips (hotels, restaurants, guide, driver, etc.);
• photography charges at monasteries/palaces/sites;
• Nepal re-entry Visa (multiple entry visas are available);
• extras cost for up-grading rooms at hotels if/when applicable;
• any cost arising from political disturbances, strikes, cancellation of flights, deviation in program, delays due to landslides/ road blockage, or otherwise;
• Any services in Katmandu/Nepal (hotels, transport, etc.).
